    TLDR

Tom Lee said Ethereum will become the leading blockchain for tokenization and artificial intelligence over the next decade.
Lee said Ethereum could reach $50,000, $100,000, or even $200,000 in price.
Bitmine now holds about 5.85 million ETH, closing in on its goal of 5% of total supply.
Bitmine earns hundreds of millions of dollars a year through staking revenue.
Lee compared Bitmine’s Ethereum strategy to Strategy’s Bitcoin treasury approach.

Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee says Ethereum will become the main blockchain for tokenization and artificial intelligence within the next ten years. He shared his view during an appearance on the Bankless podcast.

Lee also serves as chairman of Bitmine, a company that has shifted its business around Ethereum. He described the bet as central to both his own outlook and the firm’s strategy.

“We are betting everything in tokenization and AI will happen on Ethereum,” Lee said.

Why Lee Sees Ethereum Pulling Ahead

Lee argued that Ethereum’s design sets it apart from other blockchains built for narrower purposes. He said the network can support many different uses at the same time.

Those uses include tokenized real estate, tokenized securities, AI model training, and data marketplaces. Lee said this flexibility gives Ethereum an edge over chains built for a single purpose.

He also addressed whether Ethereum could someday pass Bitcoin in total market value. Lee called that outcome “very plausible,” pointing to Ethereum’s ability to generate revenue compared with Bitcoin’s role mainly as a store of value.

On price, Lee gave a wide range of possible targets. He said Ethereum could reach $50,000, $100,000, or $200,000 over time.

He added that reaching those levels would produce strong returns for Bitmine shareholders.

Bitmine’s Shift From Mining to Holding Ethereum

Bitmine started as a Bitcoin mining company. It has since moved into holding large amounts of Ethereum instead.

The company now holds close to 5.85 million ETH. That total puts it near its stated goal of owning 5% of all Ethereum in circulation.

Bitmine buys Ethereum on a weekly basis. It also stakes most of its holdings, which means it locks up the tokens to help secure the network in exchange for rewards.

That staking activity brings in hundreds of millions of dollars in yearly revenue for the company. Bitmine has also built its own validator network to support this staking process.

To keep buying Ethereum, Bitmine has used share buybacks and preferred stock financing. Lee described the overall approach as treating Ethereum as a “productive currency” rather than a simple price bet.

He said the strategy relies on future demand from tokenization and AI applications, not just speculation. Lee sees this as part of a wider shift among crypto companies looking beyond Bitcoin.

Lee drew a comparison between Bitmine’s approach and Strategy’s well known Bitcoin treasury model. Both involve a company buying and holding one asset at a large scale using capital markets to fund purchases.

The difference, according to Lee, is that Bitmine is focused on Ethereum’s role as infrastructure rather than Bitcoin’s role as a store of value. He suggested this sets up a competition between companies pursuing similar strategies with different blockchains.

Bitmine’s ongoing weekly purchases and progress toward its 5% supply target remain the clearest way to track the strategy. These figures can be measured regardless of how Ethereum’s price moves in the short term.

Ethereum’s planned scalability upgrades will also play a role. Those upgrades will determine whether the network can handle the volume of tokenized assets and AI activity that Lee expects.

Lee’s price targets reflect his own outlook and should be viewed as one voice’s prediction. Bitmine’s actual buying pace and staking income offer more concrete numbers for those following the story.
