    TLDR:

Ethereum transaction fees dropped from $0.72 to $0.095 per transfer since April’s price peak.
Fusaka’s higher blob throughput and a 60 million gas limit expanded Ethereum’s total capacity.
Layer 2 networks now absorb execution that once competed for Ethereum’s mainnet blockspace.
ETH trades near $2,441, with key support at $2,365–$2,380 and resistance near $2,520–$2,530.

Ethereum transaction fees have fallen sharply since the year’s peak, dropping from $0.72 per transfer on April 21st to just $0.095 per transfer today.

The decline comes even as ETH trades at a higher market value than it did during the earlier fee spike. Analysts point to reduced mainnet demand through a quieter summer season, paired with expanded network capacity, as the primary drivers behind this shift in transaction costs.

Ethereum Transaction Fees Fall Amid Network Upgrades

On-chain analytics firm Santiment reported that softer mainnet demand during the bearish summer period helped push Ethereum transaction fees lower.

Fewer active users competing for blockspace during that stretch reduced the pressure on network throughput. As demand cooled, the cost required to process a standard transfer fell alongside it, giving users a noticeably cheaper experience.

💸 Ethereum transaction costs have dropped considerably. Since the year’s peak fees of $0.72 per transfer back on April 21st, $ETH costs just $0.095 per transfer today, even with ETH trading at a higher market value now.

Beyond reduced demand, Ethereum’s expanded capacity has played an equally important role. The Fusaka upgrade introduced higher blob throughput, which increases the amount of data the network can process per block.

This additional headroom allows more transactions to move through the system without pushing fees upward, even as usage patterns shift over time.

A raised gas limit of 60 million has further contributed to the network’s expanded capacity. This adjustment gives each block more room to process transactions, spreading demand across a larger pool of available space.

Layer 2 networks have also absorbed a substantial share of execution that once competed directly for mainnet blockspace, easing congestion further.

Together, these factors have made Ethereum considerably easier and cheaper to use for everyday activity. Swaps, transfers, DeFi positions, stablecoin movements, and ERC-20 token activity no longer require users to sacrifice several dollars per transaction.

Lower Ethereum transaction fees remove a longstanding barrier to participation, even though cheap execution alone does not confirm that demand is strengthening again.

ETH Price Tests Key Trendline Near $2,460 Resistance

Ethereum traded at $2,441.34 as of writing, reflecting a 2.20 percent increase over the past 24 hours. Trading volume during that period reached $12.198 billion, indicating active market participation despite mixed weekly performance.

Over the past seven days, ETH has posted a 0.60 percent decline, suggesting the broader trend remains cautious even amid short-term gains.

Market analyst Cryptorphic noted that ETH is bouncing from a key support zone between $2,365 and $2,380 following a recent price drop.

$ETH is bouncing from the key $2,365–$2,380 support zone after the recent drop.

Price is now testing the broken rising trendline around $2,460. Reclaiming it could bring another move toward the $2,520–$2,530 resistance, while rejection here may send ETH back toward support.

This zone has served as a floor during the latest pullback, preventing further downside movement. Price action around this level will likely continue to shape near-term sentiment among traders watching the asset closely.

Price is now testing a broken rising trendline near $2,460, according to the same analysis. A successful reclaim of this trendline could open the door toward the $2,520 to $2,530 resistance range.

Traders are watching this zone carefully, as a move higher would mark a shift back toward the earlier upward trend.

Rejection at the trendline, however, could send ETH back toward its support zone near $2,365. This makes the current price reaction one of the more important technical signals for Ethereum in the short term.

Lower Ethereum transaction fees paired with this price setup may offer a favorable backdrop for renewed network activity ahead.
