Trueo Moves From Base to Ethereum comes down to one core reason: integration potential. The prediction market platform announced the migration, citing broader access to Ethereum’s ecosystem and plans to launch the next iteration of its oracle system the infrastructure used to verify real-world outcomes and resolve markets.
Trueo launched on Base in March 2025, and its top priority after the move is rebuilding liquidity before rolling out that next-generation oracle.
The team put the reasoning plainly: Base kept integrations confined to its own ecosystem, while Ethereum offers considerably more room to grow.
The transition isn’t a hard cutover. Existing Base markets keep trading, resolving, and processing redemptions normally, and Trueo’s current system including its TruthMarketManager, OracleCouncil, OracleBonds, and OrderManager contracts remains listed on Base for now, with no Ethereum contract addresses or launch date published yet.
Trueo Moves From Base to Ethereum
The one concrete instruction for users: avoid creating new Base markets with expiration dates after January 31, 2027. Markets expiring before that date are unaffected and can still be created normally on Base. Anything with a longer time horizon should wait for the Ethereum deployment instead.
The TRUE token Trueo’s governance and oracle token will migrate to Ethereum alongside the app, with an open-ended migration window and no announced deadline for holders to move over. Future staking and liquidity-reward programs will run on Ethereum once that instance goes live.
“Ethereum is the best chain for the most credibly neutral and truthful oracle system and prediction markets,” Trueo co-founder known as “Lumberg” said on X.

“As a new app and experiment, an L2 like Base was the right choice for many reasons. At the time, Mainnet gas costs were still elevated and some features of our app were experimental,” Trueo said on X.
“The final form of Trueo is to be a platform that is widely adopted, broadly integrated, fully permissionless, mostly immutable, and highly credible. Ethereum is the best fit for this combination of properties.”
Trueo is ranked as the 14th-largest onchain prediction market with a total value locked of $795,687, according to DefiLlama.

The Bigger Pattern
Trueo’s move fits a broader lifecycle a lot of crypto protocols follow: launch on a cheaper, faster Layer 2 to iterate quickly and keep costs low, then migrate toward Ethereum mainnet once the product has matured enough to prioritize network effects, deeper liquidity, and broader integrations over low fees. For prediction markets specifically where trust in the resolution/oracle process is the entire value proposition being closer to Ethereum’s base-layer credibility and liquidity is a meaningful trade-off against the cost savings of staying on an L2.
Whether Trueo’s bet pays off depends on two things worth watching going forward: how quickly it can rebuild liquidity on Ethereum after the move, and whether its next-generation oracle system delivers on the “credibly neutral and truthful” standard the team has set for itself.
FAQs
Why is Trueo moving from Base to Ethereum?
Trueo says Ethereum offers greater integration potential, deeper liquidity, and a stronger foundation for its next-generation oracle system, compared to the more ecosystem-limited integrations available on Base.
Will existing Trueo markets on Base stop working?
No existing Base markets continue trading, resolving, and processing redemptions normally. Users are only advised against creating new Base markets with expiration dates after January 31, 2027.
Did Vitalik Buterin invest in Trueo?
No his public comments welcoming Trueo to Ethereum do not indicate any investment, grant, Ethereum Foundation partnership, or formal relationship with the project.
